About this artist
imkeandj is a musical collaboration between two artists with a shared vision of creating
timeless and handcrafted songs. Every song exists in its own world, every lyric tells a story -
for soul and mind, for ear and heart - with two instruments, one voice and a lot to tell.
Ten years after their first meeting, Imke Gerdes and Jan-Christoph Mohr are still creating
music together. In different line-ups or with other selected band members, they’ve played far
more than 200 performances - in living rooms, clubs and at large festival stages.
Sometimes in a hushed tone and sometimes with great enthusiasm, they have consistently
been able to draw the attention of their audience, particularly in Northern Germany. The duo
also has a unique and sophisticated way of combining different genres such as country, jazz,
musical or rock to create modern pop.
