Holland Symfonia

Dutch symphony orchestra based in Haarlem and established on January 1, 2002 through a merger of with . Due to a drastic reduction in government funding in 2012 it was forced to downsize to a third of its former strength and by 2014 only had 45 musicians under contract. As it could no longer perform as a fully fledged symphony orchestra and had to cut all its educational programs as well it was decided to change its name to Het Balletorkest, as the accompanying of ballet productions is now its core business.
