German composer and organist of the late Renaissance and very early Baroque eras (born 10 August 1560 in Hamburg - died 27 January 1629 in Hamburg).
He was the son of Jacob Praetorius The Elder and succeeded him as organist of from 1586 to his death, but is unrelated to , though he met him in the Gröningen organ examination of 1596, alongside . His son was also a composer and organist.
