Swedish arranger and conductor, born January 31, 1964 in Uppsala, Sweden.

He often works in the meeting between classical music, jazz, pop and folk music. He has worked with many of the leading Swedish symphony orchestras, as well as orchestras in Norway, Denmark, England, Canada, Lithuania and Turkey. Ek has collaborated with a wide range of musicians and singers. Examples include Salem Al Fakir, Magnus Lindgren, Tommy Körberg, Anders Widmark, The Real Group, Esbjörn Svensson Trio, Georg "Jojje" Wadenius, Malena Ernman, Christian Lindberg, Stefano di Battista, Louise Hoffsten, Ale Möller, Anna Ternheim and Dreamers' Circus.

In recent years, Ek has been in charge of the music at the Polar Prize ceremony. Ek has then collaborated with artists such as Ane Brun, Robyn and Barbara Hendricks. He appears on records with Peter LeMarc, Helen Sjöholm, Salem Al Fakir, Mikael Samuelson, Christian Lindberg, English cabaret trio The Tiger Lillies and the Norwegian folk music group Kvarts and others.

Since 2000, Ek has also orchestrated and recorded music for films such as "Låt den rätte komma in" directed by Tomas Alfredson, "De osynliga" (Erik Poppe), "En man kommer hem" (Thomas Vinterberg), "Effi Briest" (Hermine Huntgeburth), "Tannöd" ( Bettina Oberli) and "Rånarna" (Peter Lindmark).
