About this artist

Danish collective Girls in Airports are known for their genre-bending, globally informed soundscapes, mixing Nordic jazz and folk with indie rock. They first garnered attention with their 2010 self-titled debut and have continued to expand their sound with albums like 2015′s Kaikoura and 2020′s Dive.
Formed in 2009 in Copenhagen, Girls in Airports feature saxophonist/flutist Martin Stender, saxophonist/clarinetist Lars Greve, keyboardist Mathias Holm, percussionist Victor Dybbroe, and drummer Mads Forsby. They debuted with the eponymous Girls in Airports in 2010 and built a loyal following touring throughout Europe, China, and Brazil. They returned in 2013 with Kaikoura, and have released a handful of well-regarded efforts, including 2011′s Migration and 2015′s Fables. Following a 2017 concert album, they returned in 2020 with their sixth album, Dive. ~ Matt Collar
