ELF was a Canberra-based Australian electronic music project. It was also commonly referred to as and was previously known as - all being siblings of . As ELF, the E.L.F. and later as , they performed live numerous times during 2001-2004 in Canberra, Sydney and Newcastle; their music was played on the national 'Triple J' radio station ; tracks were released on the compilation albums of several record labels; and a couple of CDR albums and singles were released via http://www.BlatantPropaganda.org - a Canberra record label that was most active in the 1990s and 2000s.
The name was changed from Elf to E.L.F. to avoid confusion with the '70s rock band; and then from E.L.F. to XELF to also avoid confusion with another Australian artist who started using E.L.F. as a moniker, during the time that "A Nice Walk in the Park" was being played frequently on national radio. The project went on - what was meant to be a temporary - pause in 2004. Some of the tracks, originally released as ELF, have been released on later albums by EYE. As of 2024 the album "Live at XXL" has been released on Bandcamp, with notes that others are to follow.
