About this artist

Canadian electronic dance producer and DJ Dzeko got his start as one-half of the duo Dzeko & Torres. With his musical partner, Dzeko released a steady stream of singles from the late 2000s and into 2016 before going solo and scoring a hit in 2018 with “Jackie Chan,” his collaboration with Tiësto, Preme, and Post Malone.
Born Julian Dzeko, the Toronto-based artist spins a physical brand of future and progressive house. With Luis Torres, he issued a single EP, Hey (Dim Mak), in 2012. When the duo amicably split, Dzeko issued his first single “Liberty,” which he followed with tracks such as “Never Gonna Love Me” featuring Sam James and “California” with Brynn Elliot. As he made his way up festival rosters, he caught the ears of major influence Tiësto, who recruited Dzeko for 2018′s radio-friendly dance anthem “Jackie Chan,” which also featured rappers Preme and Post Malone. “Jackie Chan” quickly became a hit, charting across Europe and in the U.S. That same year, he also issued singles “Don’t Stop” with Liu, “Hypebeat” with Kris Kaiden, and “Might Not Like Me,” a reunion with Brynn Elliot. More tracks followed in 2019, including “Halfway There” with Tiësto and Lena Leon, “The King” with Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman, and a reworking of Kool & the Gang’s “Down on It” with DJ D-Sol. ~ Neil Z.
