DreamDoll is the rap alias of Tabatha Robinson, a flamboyant and ribald MC who gained a following through social media and roles in the reality television programs Bad Girls Club and Love & Hip Hop: New York. She launched her rap career in 2017, releasing an EP of pop-tinged trap tunes named Life in Plastic that year. After a 2019 sequel, DreamDoll attracted a major-label contract and built more commercial momentum with Life in Plastic 3, issued in 2022.
Born and raised in the Bronx, DreamDoll worked as a bartender in a strip club before she was given an offer to star in the 16th season of Bad Girls Club. She was also a supporting cast member in season eight of Love & Hip Hop: New York. She signed to Gwinin’, run by fellow Love & Hip Hop cast member DJ Self, and made her debut for the label in May 2017 with “Everything Nice.” Four months later, weeks prior to the broadcast of Love & Hip Hop’s first episode of season eight, DreamDoll released a seven-track EP titled Life in Plastic. Maino was featured on the track “Slay.” After signing to District 18, Life in Plastic 2 arrived in 2019, with guests including Lil' Kim and cupcakKe. Following appearances on tracks by Fredo Bang and Hitmaka, DreamDoll released several singles in 2020. Starting with “Who You Loving?,” featuring G-Eazy and Rahky, she continued that year with the Fivio Foreign-assisted “Ah Ah Ah,” among other tracks, and was featured on “Watchu Like” by Rah Swish. Singles such as “Tryouts” and “Oh Shhh” quickly amassed over a million streams in 2021, the year DreamDoll became affiliated with major-label Warner. DreamDoll added to the Life in Plastic series in 2022 with the likes of Tish Hyman and French Montana featured on her third EP-length project. ~ Andy Kellman & Paul Simpson
