New Orleans rapper Don Flamingo’s (aka “the Show”) career was disrupted in the early days by Hurricane Katrina, which devastated the city and left him displaced. Born Donald Allen III, Flamingo persevered, and eventually made a name for himself on the local New Orleans circuit. His talent was eventually noticed by Jay-Z’s label Roc Nation, which signed him. He went on to release a series of mixtapes (Neva Say Die, Vols. 1-3) in 2016, and released the Race to Power EP in 2017. ~ Bekki Bemrose
