À propos de cet artiste

Born in Providence, RI, in the early ’70s, by the time Eclipse moved to Columbia, SC, in 1985, he was already fast becoming a requested and respected DJ. In 1992 he left South Carolina for New York to produce MC Serch’s (who he had met in Columbia) sophomore album, which — due to problems with label Def Jam — was never released. In 1994, working at Wild Pitch Records in retail promotion, Eclipse met Sabac, who, along with Ill Bill and Goretex, formed Non Phixion in 1995. Eventually Eclipse moved over to work at Fat Beats Records, also DJing for acts like Natural Elements, Beatnuts, and 3rd Bass. In 2002 Eclipse officially left Fat Beats to co-run Uncle Howie Records with bandmate Ill Bill, who then finally issued Non Phixion’s full-length debut, The Future Is Now, the same year. Besides releasing a variety of mixtapes and other collections, DJ Eclipse was also a host of the acclaimed hip-hop radio program The Halftime Show on WNYU. ~ Marisa Brown
