London-based producer/DJ Robert Alexander Etheridge creates poppy, anthemic drum’n’bass tracks as Dimension. His songs feature bright, ’80s-inspired synth melodies, smooth, surging breaks, and urgent vocals, both sampled and original. He scored a U.K. chart hit with “Desire,” his 2018 collaboration with Sub Focus, and his full-length debut, Organ, arrived in 2021, topping the U.K. dance chart. He’s continued issuing euphoric singles like 2024′s “Angel” (with Sub Focus, NGHTMRE, and Mougleta). Etheridge started a drum’n’bass label called Regal Records in 2010, releasing tracks by artists such as Ben Kama and Ad Gannon. He began releasing music as Dimension in 2012, starting with the “Digital World” single on Cyantific Records. His tracks quickly caught the attention of drum’n’bass DJs such as Andy C. and Noisia, and more 12”s on Cyantific followed, as well as appearances on several UKF Music/AEI Music compilations. By the end of 2014, Dimension had signed to Chase & Status’ MTA label, releasing “Love to Me,” which received heavy airplay on BBC Radio 1. More tracks appeared on MTA in 2015, including the hits “Whip Slap” and “Dark Lights,” and Dimension remixed tracks by artists outside of the drum’n’bass genre such as house producer Duke Dumont. Dimension collaborated with Wilkinson on the 2017 track “Rush,” and scored a silver-certified U.K. chart hit with the 2018 single “Desire,” produced with Sub Focus. The mix CD Fabriclive 98 was issued by Fabric the same year. Dimension released numerous singles on his eponymous label, and his first album, Organ, arrived in 2021, with guests including Liam Bailey, Culture Shock, and Sharlene Hector. The release reached the top position of the U.K. dance albums chart. Dimension and Sub Focus reunited for 2022′s “Ready to Fly,” a throwback to U.K. hardcore. “Where Do We Go” (featuring Poppy Baskcomb) and “DJ Turn It Up” appeared in 2023. Dimension collaborated with Alison Wonderland on the 2024 single “Satellite,” and “Angel” found him working with Sub Focus, NGHTMRE, and Mougleta. ~ Paul Simpson
