Born in Quebec, Diane Tell learned to play the guitar early in life and moved to Montreal as a teenager. She performed in bars around the area and gradually gained popularity until “L’Eveche” became popular in 1980. Tell’s album En Fleche appeared the same year and sold 150,000 copies. Her other albums include Les Cinemas-Bas (1977), Entre Nous (1979), Chimeres (1982), On a Besoin d’Amour (1984), Faire a Nouveau Connaissance (1986), Paris Collection (1987), Paris*Montreal (1987), and Degriffe-Moi (1988). ~ John Bush
