About this artist

Dewey Da Don, coming from Kansas City Kansas, is the answer to the streets right now. Delivering gangsta rap with a west coast vibe, he’s often compared to the late, great Nipsey Hussle Not only physically, but because his influence has always been the streets and he has always been one to give back-even as he establishes himself as a hip-hop star.

The moment Dewey Da Don knew he wanted to pursue music, was when his father got incarcerated for ten years in a federal penitentiary. At that point, he knew he had to find a different way out of the streets. He chose music.

When hip hop fans hear his music, he wants them to feel his struggle but also understand that the streets has many sides to it. Not everyone bred from the streets is one-dimensional. Like, Dewey Da Don, many are hustlers, parents and game tellers. Music is his way of turning his pain from living the street life into power.

What’s special about Dewey Da Don’s latest project, BlackTop Baby, is his reintroduction into the rap game. He’s perfected his flow and subject matter. His music can be defined as street and raw with a west coast production and Midwest flow to layer the track and catchy hooks with street metaphors. His rap style and certified bangers motivate listeners to grind hard to get money and out hustle the competition. This is by far Dewey Da Don’s greatest work to date. BlackTop Baby has notable street features from Rich the Factor, Dee Rogers, Santana Fox, RobLo DaStar and more. What is most significant and inspiring to him about this project is that he dedicated it to his cousin, Joshua Martin, who just recently passed.

Dewey Da Don defines success in music by touching lives while also being able to afford to take care of his family. He strives to break the deadly cycle of the streets and show people another way. It’s undeniable that Dewey Da Don pursues music simply because it is his passion. He loves the ability to share his life and lessons through music. Every time someone hits him up on Instagram or Facebook to let him know that his music is helping them get through the day, it makes Dewey Da Don push that much harder.

With the video releases of radio spin-worthy hits, Live Long, Keep It On Me and 50 Keys Large, Dewey Da Don’s return to the rap game is solidified.
