The Detroit Symphony Orchestra is an American orchestra based in Detroit, Michigan. Its primary performance venue is Orchestra Hall at the Max M. Fisher Music Center in Detroit's Midtown neighborhood. The orchestra's current president and chief executive officer is Anne Parsons, since 2004. The orchestra's most recent music director, Leonard Slatkin, is its music director laureate. Jader Bignamini is the designated next music director of the orchestra, effective with the 2020-2021 season.
