Daniel Kennedy

American percussionist from California.
Kennedy made his first musical education at the , followed up by a PhD at the . His teachers were , and tabla-master . He is the Instructor of Percussion at California State University, Sacramento, and artistic director of the Festival of New American Music.
Kennedy founded several ensembles for contemporary music, including , the and Rootstock Percussion. He has been a member of the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players since 1993.
Kennedy has performed throughout the US, Europe and Japan. He appeared with Steve Reich and the contemporary music ensemble Alarm Will Sound at Stanford’s Bing Theater, performed in Italy with Berkeley’s ECO Ensemble, and toured with Gamelan Sekar Jaya in Bali, Indonesia.
Kennedy has also recorded with several renowned contemporary artists.
