Equally inspired by classic Brit pop and Gorillaz's brand of postmodern pop, Dan Black is an English singer, songwriter and producer whose style ranges from intimate bedroom hip-hop to big-screen balladry. He played in a rock band called the Servant before moving from London to Paris, where he began working on his own fusion of hip-hop beats and electronic production with classic pop songwriting. He first found Internet fame with 2008's "HYPNTZ," a mash-up of the Notorious B.I.G. and Rihanna, and in early 2010 he released his debut album, Un, with an appearance from Kid Cudi on the opening track "Symphonies."
