Berlin-based all-girl electronic group Chicks On Speed comprises attention whores Alex Murray-Leslie, Kiki Moorse and Melissa Logan. They hail from Sydney, upstate New York and Munich, respectively. Claiming their chosen name contains no veiled drug reference, this art school-trained trio fashions a personal brand of aural dysfunction and tops it with lyrics that dictate a feminist political agenda. Influences from New Wave, Electro, Digital Hardcore and Punk acts shine through a mass of gritty electronics, severe beats and vaguely pop-identified rock effects. As seen on their debut album, Will Save Us All (2000), Chicks On Speed's tracks are largely a series of collaborations with various producers.
