Canadian vocalist Charlotte Cardin is a soulful, pop-oriented performer whose bilingual French and English style mixes singer/songwriter folk, jazz, electronica, and R&B. After competing on La Voix, she debuted with 2017′s Juno Award-nominated EP Main Girl. Her full-length debut, Phoenix, arrived in 2021, topping the charts in Canada and winning four Juno Awards, including Album of the Year. Cardin built on her success with the 2023 hit “Confetti” from her second album, 99 Nights. Following her 2023 EP, Une Semaine à Paris, she delivered the 2024 single “Lonely with Our Love.” Born in Montreal in 1994 to a French-speaking family, Cardin studied medicine and worked as a model before launching her singing career. Initially, she came to the public’s attention as a contestant on the vocal competition show La Voix in 2013. After finishing in the Top Four, she was featured on French singer Garou’s track “Du Vent des Mots.” Three years later, she delivered the EP Big Boy. In 2017, Cardin released her sophomore EP, Main Girl, on Atlantic Records, and earned Juno Award nominations for Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year for “Main Girl,” “Paradise Motion,” and “The Kids.” She also picked up nominations in the French and English categories at the SOCAN songwriting Awards for her songs “Big Boy” and “Faufile.” In 2019, she collaborated with producer CRi on a cover of Daniel Bélanger’s “Fous N’importe Où.” She also guested on Loud’s track “Sometimes, All the Time.” In September 2020, Cardin issued the single “Passive Aggressive” as the first track off her full-length debut album. Released in April 2021, the Jason Brando-produced Phoenix hit number one on the Canadian Albums chart. Cardin also garnered four Juno Awards, including Album of the Year, Pop Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Single of the Year for “Meaningless.” During the front half of 2023, she released a string of singles including “Confetti” and “Looping,” ahead of her sophomore album, 99 Nights. The album reached number three on the Canadian charts. A companion EP, Une Semaine à Paris, showcasing her bilingual French and English skills, arrived the same year and featured a piano version of “Confetti,” “Feel Good,” “Real Love” with Laylow, and “Un Peu Trop.” More standalone singles appeared in 2024, including “Lonely with Our Love.” ~ Matt Collar
