Carles Cases (born 1958, Sallent) is a Spanish musician born in Catalonia.
He was trained in piano and cello at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu, in harmony and piano-jazz at the Hastad Modern Music Academy, and in orchestration and composition at the Instituto Superior de Arte de la Habana. He started his musical career backing Coses with his cello, in late 70s.
He was a member of Lluís Rovira's Big Band in the 1970s. In 1982, he created the Carles Cases Quartet, and performed in several musical events all over Spain, while he was a member of a string quartet as a cello player, performing classical works.
He began his career as a soundtrack and audio-visual composer in 1989 and has produced several artists' works, including Lluís Llach, Martirio, Maria del Mar Bonet and Georges Moustaki.
