Candlelight Red are a hard rock/metal band originally hailing from Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The original members, having all built followings in their previous bands (including founding bassist Adam Zimmer in Stept On), built on this success by initially starting as a cover/party band, and soon moving on to original music after the departure of founding vocalist Greg Locke and arrival of Ryan Hoke.

Their first single, "Closer," won them an opening slot for KISS as part of a contest in conjunction with Guitar Center in 2010. Ultimately, KISS founders Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley chose CLR as the overall winners of the contest, securing them a large prize used to purchase new gear.

Following the release of their debut album "The Wreckage" and after undergoing some line-up changes, CLR began to gain national exposure, having joined the Rockstar Energy UPROAR festival in 2012. They subsequently toured with acts including Fozzy, Egypt Central and Sevendust. It was during this time that Sevendust drummer Morgan Rose became their producer, leading to the release of their EP "Demons" and its resulting LP, "The Reclamation." In 2014, CLR went on hiatus, with Edge going on to form The Jeremy Edge Project.

Following an extended hiatus, CLR announced their return in 2021 with Rose now serving as their drummer.
