Atlanta rapper BRS Kash achieved viral success with his first single. The melodic, booming fun of his 2020 song “Throat Baby (Go Baby)” caught the ears of mainstream audiences after it inspired a social media dance challenge. He released his debut album, Kash Only, the following year.
BRS Kash was born Kenneth Duncan, Jr. in Atlanta in 1993. He grew up immersed in music, raised by a mother who was a performer herself. He started his career with a viral hit with the release of his first single, “Throat Baby (Go Baby),” in 2020. The catchy track was quickly absorbed by social media users, and a dance challenge to its bouncy, midtempo beat pushed streaming numbers into the millions. After the viral success of the song, he signed on with Interscope subsidiary LVRN and issued his full-length debut, Kash Only. Released in 2021, the 12-track set included “Throat Baby” along with the Mulatto-assisted hit “Kash App.” ~ Fred Thomas
