Using the post industrial, mid austerity backdrop of North East England as inspiration, Brass Monkey is breaking into the Northern music scene with distinctive vocals and his own brand of bluesy, grunge inspired rock.
Breaking his teeth on the open mic circuit before becoming known as a gigging acoustic soloist he released his first 2 singles "Breadline" and "Nowhere" in 2019. Both tracks seek to vent the pressure cooker of emotions felt by those left behind in modern Britain. After being debuted by Spark Sunderland as well as Valley FM in Australia, "Breadline" received national airtime on Union Jack Radio's "Underdogs". It then went on to be played in Canada, Germany, France and the US where it placed at number 1 in the WKW 98.6AM CRAM Top 40.
