Pandora support added

After much anticipation Pandora links are now supported for artist, album and song pages

Today I'm pleased to announce Pandora support has arrived at Songwhip for Song, Album and Artist links 🙌

Pandora buttons will start appearing on all artist, album and song pages for US visitors whenever a match is found ✨ (example page).

Why Pandora?

Pandora is the third largest music streaming platform in the US, with approximately 80 million listeners. With this many users it's super important that Songwhip's ready to support those fans.

Why only for US visitors?

The Pandora service is only available to US citizens, so only Songwhip users based in the US will see the Pandora button. The goal of Songwhip is to get your fans into their chosen music app of choice ASAP, the fewer irrelevant options the faster they'll be able to find what they're looking for.

If you're not in the US and you'd like to view a Songwhip page through the eyes of a US, simple open up the side 'hamburger' menu and change your country to US in the dropdown list.

As I add more country-specific music streaming services I'll likely follow this same pattern to keep the app as clean and simple as possible. If a music service is not relevant to some of your fans, they shouldn't see it.

Do I need to do anything to update my existing links?

No, all Songwhip pages update their music platform links every 7 days. If you can't wait, contact me and I'll trigger an early refresh. Any new artist or album pages created will include _Pandora_ links right away.

I'm still not seeing a Pandora button

Songwhip can be quite strict when determining a matching link. Check that your Pandora artist/album/song name exactly match that on other services (especially Spotify). If it still doesn't appear reach out to me and manually add the link for you.

Pandora as a source link

Unfortunately Songwhip doesn't support Pandora links as a 'source' link (ie. pasted in the Songwhip search box). This is because Pandora URLs don't expose the resource id, meaning we can't lookup data from the URL alone. This shouldn't be an issue for 99% of you, but just wanted you to know 🙃

As always, reach out to me directly if you have any feedback or comments (I'm really nice 🙂).

It's only from your kind support that I'm able to continue improving Songwhip; so thanks again to all who've donated (donate here), I'm eternally grateful!

Yours sincerely 🙏
