Italian house producer Riccardo Paffetti, aka Black Loops, leans toward the understated, deep side of dance music.
Black Loops was originally formed alongside Gabriele Micheli after they met at a party in 2007. Although they hit it off and suggested making some music together, it wasn’t until 2011 that they met up to create some tunes. Together, they moved to Berlin and began churning out EPs, beginning with the Right Now EP for Toy Tonics. From there, they averaged a couple of EPs every year, for labels such as Gruuv and Neovinyl Recordings.
Around 2017 the duo parted ways, although Paffetti carried on as a solo act, going on to release 2017′s For the Lovers EP on Pets Recordings, 2018′s 7Hills EP on Freerange, and 2019′s Gwei Lo, again on Pets. ~ Liam Martin
