A mix of warmly introspective indie rock and classic power pop, Bird Streets is the musical vehicle of New York-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist John Brodeur. A member of bands like the Suggestions and Maggie Mayday as well as an occasional solo artist, Brodeur launched the Bird Streets project with the help of Jason Falkner (Jellyfish, Beck, the Grays) in Los Angeles, releasing his first album in 2018. Following the release of his 2013 solo album, Little Hopes, Brodeur spent some time in L.A. writing and recording a new group of songs with longtime friend Falkner. He chose to name the project Bird Streets, which represents a neighborhood in Hollywood Hills and also references the streets of his old hometown, Albany, New York. With Falkner producing and splitting instrumental duties, the two completed Bird Streets’ self-titled debut over a period of two years in New York and L.A. It was released by Omnivore Records in August 2018. ~ Timothy Monger
