Growing up in the small, relatively unheard of city of Easley, South Carolina, Big Cawda's words have always seemed to cast a greater echo than his surroundings had a capacity for. The desire to be great manifested itself and captivated Carter Fish from a young age, as he began to harness his lyrical skillset, putting his pen to the page and creating songs from the time he was 10. His introduction into the world of music surprisingly did not begin in front of the microphone, but instead from behind the drum kit, so the transition into the rhythmic realm of rap seemed to come as a natural translation. Cawda clung to the expressive and lyrically dense projects of the 90's, drawing inspiration from artists such as Nas, MF DOOM, Eminem, Jay-Z, and The Notorious B.I.G., creating his own style that melded the vintage influence with sounds of the new age. The nature of writing and recording was quickly realized to be cathartic for Carter, hooking him to the craft, etching itself through the transparent tracks created. Big Cawda began his music production in 2015 with the creation of the mixtape: "(R)evolution". The project, "Growing Pains", was Big Cawda's first official EP, and released March 3rd of 2018. His single, "Ironic", gained attention and opened performance opportunities in the Atlanta area, where his debut showcasing of Growing Pains paved the beginnings for the road ahead.
