About this artist

Bernhard Betschart is a man with many facets. He grew up in Muotathal and learned his love for music from his parents. With five first experiences with the "Betschart family" on stage. 1983/84 Production of the documentary films "Jodeln und Juuzen" by Hugo Zemp - further films are made.

His two-year trip through Canada and the USA, his passion for music there and his love for acoustic guitar inspired him to found the acoustic band "Black Creek" in 2011. Named after that magical place in Canada where the three musicians met back then.

Thoroughbred musician Bernhard Betschart also proves his versatility with the Muotathaler Juuzer group 'Natur pur'. He plays the bass violin to rustic country music with the "Echo vom Schattenhalb" or juuzt archaic sounds to jazzy, new folk elements in the "Pirmin Huber country orchestra".

He successfully passes on his passion for Juuzen to workshops at home and abroad. The Naturjuuz learning CDs released at the end of 2019 are a very personal work of the artist, who thus expresses his appreciation for tradition and at the same time his curiosity for new things.
