BeatKing

About this artist

Hitting with a full-bodied, Bun B-styled voice that can still spit as fast as Twista, BeatKing is a rapper, producer, and songwriter from Houston, Texas. Emerging in 2010 with his first effort, Kings of the Club, he issued a steady stream of mixtapes through the decade, employing social media to expand his audience with clever viral videos that were compiled on 2019′s Viral Freestyles.
Born Justin Riley, he debuted in 2010 with the Kings of the Club mixtape, but it was Kings of the Club II from later in the year that took off with its singles “Crush” and “Hammer.” His Club God album followed in 2011, and while it was filled with serious songs along with club bangers, BeatKing also launched another style online and gained popularity with his meme-themed and viral video-inspired uploads. Getting back to street business, his Club God 2 LP appeared in 2012, while Club God 3 arrived in 2013. In 2015 he released Club God 4, which featured the hit single “Stopped,” along with guest spots from Paul Wall, RiFF RAFF, and Danny Brown. The fifth Club God installment arrived the next year and featured appearances by Gangsta Boo, Short Dawg, and DJ Outta Space, as well as production by TM88 and Stunt N Dozier. Club God 6 landed in 2019, the same year he collected his popular social media videos onto one compilation, Viral Freestyles.
In 2020, BeatKing released a steady stream of singles, including “Drop It Down” and “Throw This Cash.” The following year, he teamed with Queendom Come for “Respectfully”; the raunchy “Throw Dat,” which also featured Ying Yang Twins and Lil Jon; and “Keep It Poppin” with Ludacris. ~ David Jeffries
