GENDERLESS & GENRELESS
Babyghost has always used music and art as a vehicle for self-expression and change. NorCal born and SoCal living, the nonbinary and genrefluid singer/ songwriter writes with a certain evocative vulnerability that comes from a close relationship with love and loss. Babyghost self-identifies as a learner, creative, and rhythm enthusiast.
Babyghost began as a classically trained choral musician, but eventually began sonic experimentation in multiple genres and instruments. This was supported by a continuation of classical studies, which led to opportunities like singing with the Who and Sarah Brightman, as well as on historic stages such as Weill Hall and the Apollo Theatre. Babyghost has furthered their performance resume significantly since embarking on a solo career. They have recorded in notable studios (ex. The Lip, Record Plant, Revolver), performed at famous venues across California (ex. The Phoenix, The Avalon, The Echoplex, Hotel Cafe Main & Second Stages) and look forward to sharing their music with the LGBTQ+ community in the nation and beyond.
"[E]verything with their music is primarily poetry in rhythm, which is then laid onto a sonic landscape." - Lou Mavs, Music is Life Podcast
