Los Angeles-based Japanese composer, producer, and classically trained pianist, who has worked in film, television, advertising, and music production.
Matsumiya was a co-founder, composer, and arranger of Los Angeles Ladies Choir (founded in 2009). She was in bands such as Moonrats, and ESP (33), and she also wrote for and performed in the conceptual art band The Sads with art curator Aaron Rose. In 2010, one of the songs from her first EP was featured as the theme song for the Spike Jonze short film "I’m Here" and won the award for best original music at the AICP Awards, after which she has focused on film scoring.
