About this artist

These daughters of rock royalty grew up hanging out together in Southern California, forming a friendship that developed into a successful singing career. In 1989, Carnie and Wendy Wilson (whose dad is The Beach Boys' Brian Wilson) and Chynna Phillips (daughter of The Mamas and the Papas' John and Michelle Phillips) signed with SBK Records. Their self-titled 1990 debut was a smash, generating a series of No. 1 hits including "Hold On," "Release Me" and "You're in Love." The album went on to be certified as the best-selling album of all time by an all-female group in 1992, beating out The Supremes. A darker and less successful second album preceded the group's disbandment to pursue solo careers and families. They reunited a couple of times, however: in 2004 for the album California and in 2010 for the holiday album Christmas in Harmony.
