About this artist
The man behind those haunting, Morrissey-like croons and sparkling '80s synths is George Lewis, Jr. Like many indie hopefuls, the young Lewis -- born in the Dominican Republic, raised in suburban Florida -- eventually settled in Brooklyn, where his career quickly took off. It was in this bustling borough where he began seriously working on songs, and where he eventually met Grizzly Bear's Chris Taylor, who ended up producing Twin Shadow's debut album. With influences ranging from The Smiths to David Bowie to Depeche Mode and even a little bit of funk and R&B, Forget was released in 2010 to critical acclaim.
