Tax G is the most interesting artist coming up in New Jersey. Respected by all of the state's elite, Tax’s career and life have been an adventure. Since high school he has pursued his art but it wasn’t until 2006 that Tax was initiated as a Grape St. Crip and started selling p***** to pay for his music career and extravagant lifestyle - Tax G the P was born. The purple heart tattooed on his face demonstrates his allegiance, and a facial scar and tatoos on the rest of his body serve as a biography for his trials and triumphs. Tax’s career was put in jeapordy when he was locked up for a gun found in his home. However, it wasn’t until Tax was released from Essex County Jail and featured in Don Diva Magazine that his buzz began to spread like wild fire- his “hoes paid the bail” as he declares in one record.
Upon his release, it was then that internet blogs started to become popular, and Tax G was a favorite by all of Jersey’s finest bloggers. Once the streets began to see the life of a certified crip and a rapper that didn’t just glamorize a pimp’s lifestyle but actually lived it, they were hooked. Backed up by early videos directed by Nimi Hendrix, the world got an inside view of the challenges of the lifestyle. Tax G didn’t brag about being a pimp, he was a pimp and the short films showed the world that that lifestyle too was a struggle. From dealing with violence from opposing pimps jealous that he "knocked their hoe" or clients that victimized his women- the visuals gave a uncut view of the dark side of pimping, or as he calls “the Underworld". Backed by the Secret Society movement, Tax G with his unique song making ability released several mix tapes that spread his message through out the tri-state and across the country. Tax gained many fans from females that were interested in the allure of his lifestyle. He has popularized the term “mermaid” and his “water” serves as a language of game.
Over the last several years, Tax G has went from purchasing a mansion in Daytona Beach to searching for places to live while juggling his hustle and his music career. Currently residing in Miami, Florida, Tax G still makes his presence felt on the East Coast and his absence only increases his value. While in Florida, Tax G’s adventure has not slowed down. From hooking up with the infamous Kat Stacks to being on trial for a police officer assault charge, Tax G’s life is always a movie but his authenticity is never scripted.
