Shawn Parker

While many DJs go out of their way to "stand out" in the crowd, a select few artists make it a point to be one with the crowd, not separating themselves, or looking for their ivory tower. Shawn Parker is one of the few. Shawn states, plainly, "I consider myself to be attending the party as much as anyone else... I contribute to the energy, but certainly, I can't take credit for it. Its a collective effort, and I am just doing what I can to add to the spirit of the time."

Passion and love support his consistent offerings of soul-stirring muse-ic. Shawn has proven time and time again what the power of putting the audience first can do, with sets as diverse as he is inspired. Since his 1990 premiere in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he has headlined with many of the nation's top DJs, performing in more than 13 major cities in seven states nationwide.

Shawn's production credits include original releases and remixes for Fragrant Records, Rampant Records, Plastik Records, and other respected labels. His discography boasts more than 10 commercially available titles, including the Dayspring Collective's "Spark," which Shawn co-produced with J. Scott G. and Jason Blum of Deepsky. "Spark" is recognized as the album which showcased Deepsky's "Stargazer" and catapulted Deepsky to the top of American dance music culture. Recently, his Desert Sol remix of Money Shot captivated audiences and DJs alike, with its unique flavor and powerful groove. Desert Sol now receives Shawn's undivided attention and new releases are expected soon.
