About this artist
Atlanta-based producer OTR makes passionate, sentimental electronic songs that reflect feelings of love and loss. Inspired by artists like ODESZA and Bonobo, his downtempo productions are intricate and cinematic, and he’s collaborated with vocalists such as Shallou and Blondage. After the release of his 2018 EP Unfold, OTR signed to Astralwerks and released the singles “Heart” and “Stay” in 2019.
OTR started making music on his computer while a college student. During an internship in Japan in 2014, he spent all of his free time making music, and he decided to turn music into a career goal when he moved to Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood (which became the inspiration for his moniker). He released several instrumental productions in 2016, moving to vocal-based tunes with 2017′s “Already Gone” (featuring Kelsie Rimmer). Remixes for Petit Biscuit and Blondage attracted attention, and OTR’s debut EP, Unfold, appeared in 2018. The producer signed to Astralwerks in 2019 and released “Heart,” a collaboration with Shallou, followed by “Stay” featuring WYNNE. The following year, OTR previewed his debut long-player with the singles “Midnight Sun” featuring Ukiyo and “Broken” with Au/Ra. The album, titled Lost at Midnight, arrived that April. ~ Paul Simpson
