Flexus Denmark
There are many debates in psychology about what shapes the personality and behavior of human beings. Some claim it is the social and cultural surrounding the person, since the day he is born, which influence what kind of person he will become. While others claim it is mainly the genetic code that is inherited through the parents of that person. In the case of Stefan Gøransson, it is a clear result of both.

Growing up in a place like Freetown Christiania, in Denmark, with its anarchistic agenda can definitely mold a very psychedelic creator such as Flex. Freetown Christiania is a self-proclaimed autonomous neighborhood in Copenhagen, which was a military base that was squatted in 1971 by hippies. This place is a one of a kind phenomenon, where people in western society managed to create their own country, with their own rules, thus making it a Permanent Autonomous Zone (as opposed to TAZ – Temporary Autonomous Zone). While many people in the world are dreaming of this kind of ideal location and society – some people, like Gøransson, live it. Along with his hippie parents, he was growing up in the perfect psychedelic greenhouse.

Flexus was inspired by various electronic music genres, especially Techno and Progressive House. He heard from some of his school mates about Psychedelic Trance and started to dig into it. Gøransson started to hear Psytrance such as Astral Projection and Man with No Name, and wasted all his money on cd from Tunnel and Goa Head records. But then an extraordinary experience changed his life when he was 18 years old – his first Voov Experience Festival in 2002. This festival opened a door that was just waiting to be opened, and once it did, it was pure magic. Gøransson started to go to parties and slowly wanted to learn how to mix. At first he tended to like the more Full-On style such as Perplex, Sesnto Sento and Bizzare Contact. But later, he began to discover, through his good friends, the brothers Leslie and Thomas Cowan, aka Time in Motion, the Progressive side of the Trance. Around 2 years ago they started to talk about working together in the studio, and when the studio of the Cowan's burnt down, it was the biggest sign for them to start collaborating with each other.

His first creation was released this year, 2011, in the EP – Smooth Vibration, that prepares you for the kind of feeling you should expect from Flex. Only in his beginning of his career, and already the unique emotions he floods in the ears of the listeners tells you that you should keep an eye on this guy, he is here to stay and make his mark.
