About this artist

A singer, songwriter, pennywhistler, and bagpiper, Eric Fish was a member of Subway to Sally in addition to his solo work. Born Erik Hecht on May 28, 1969 in Treuenbreitzen, Eric Fish had his first taste of musical success in 1988, upon winning an East German talent competition. Initially a founding member of the folk band Catriona, which lasted one album and about two years before breaking up, Fish would become a musician with Subway to Sally in 1992, and eventually took over as lead vocalist of that group within a year. In 1999, Eric struck out on his own at pubs — yet remaining a member of Subway to Sally — and released his debut album, the live collection Auge Zu Auge, in 2004. His work habit as a solo artist — that is, playing long shows wherever and whenever he could — eventually paid off, and he began to sell out shows in larger and larger venues. In 2006, he released his next album, Zwilling. ~ Chris True
