Dean James

Dean James is an acoustic rock & blues artist who has been plying his trade for a decade. In 2015 Dean was signed to Forgotten City Records where plans were put in motion to release his debut album in 2016.

As part of that plan Dean released his first single 'Alive' on October 17th selling out Indigo Rooms in Sunderland in which the incredible turn-out saw every hard copy of the single sold within one hour.

Dean will release 'Black Dog' at the end of the year and his album will be released in March 2016.

Inspired by the likes of John Lee Hooker, Bob Marley, Billy Joel and Nirvana he found his escape in the de-constructed sounds and songs about women, whiskey and struggles.

Creating his own sound from his inspirations whilst adding his own poetic edge to them Dean has created music that is as dark and haunting as it is memorizing and beautiful.

Dean has recently played exceptional shows at The O2 Academy Newcastle, The Cluny, Independent, The Corner Flag, The Dun Cows first Blues & Acoustic Festival and the main stage for Sunderland Soundscape which was part of the Sunderland City of Culture launch.

Dean has supported acts such as Mark Morriss from The Bluetones and upcoming Blues Sensation Dan Owen.
