About this artist

Alyx Ander writes shimmering, euphoria-seeking dance-pop tunes with subtly sophisticated arrangements and longing vocals. Originally from Queens, New York, he studied classical music and theater at the LaGuardia High School for the Performing Arts, but he was turned on to the New York club scene and witnessed DJs such as Danny Tenaglia and Tiësto in action. He moved to Miami for further studies, and began producing dance music. His debut single, “Close Enough” (featuring Maria Z), was released by Nettwerk’s EDM imprint Nettrax in 2015. After receiving airplay from Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1 and Jason Bentley on KCRW’s nationally syndicated Morning Becomes Eclectic, the song received millions of streams. Alyx Ander’s second single, “Memories of You” (featuring Srey Davi), followed in 2016, and the producer remixed Delerium and Sarah McLachlan’s perennial hit “Silence” as well as The Voice finalist Caroline Pennell’s cover of Xavier Rudd’s “Follow the Sun.” Pennell also sang on Alyx Ander’s third single, “Wake Up for the Night,” which was released in 2017. ~ Paul Simpson
