Anyma

Canadian singer/songwriter Anyma blends indie pop and electronic sounds with traditions from her native Wendat Nation heritage. She released her debut EP, Humans, in 2021.
A member of the Wendat First Nations, Anyma grew up in Wendake, Quebec with a dancer/choreographer mother and musician father. Her father was also the cultural chief of her village. She was encouraged to explore her creativity from a young age and eventually joined her father’s long-running multi-disciplinary musical theater production Ozalik as a dancer. Anyma also began writing and recording her own songs, weaving together alt-pop, electronic, and orchestral sounds with musical influences culled from her Wendat upbringing. In 2021, she released her debut EP, Humans, which featured the single “Circus.” Around the same time, she accepted the position of singer and composer with the Quebec circus troop Flip Fabrique. ~ Matt Collar
