André Navarra

A child prodigy, Navarra studied first at the Toulouse Conservatory and later at the Paris Consevatoire, receiving the premier prix at both schools. He debuted in 1931 at the Colonne Concerts in Paris. He performed throughout Europe and the USA, Mexico, Canada, USSR, India, Japan and Australia. He served as professor of music at many important schools including the Paris Conservatory and the Vienna Hochschule fur Musik. His performances were noted for their refinement, and thoughtful and enthusiastic interpretations and he could easily move from solo work to chamber music. ~ Lynn Vought
