Agneta Sköld

Swedish choir conductor, church musician and composer, born Norrman 18 April 1947 in Västerås.

She studied at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm with an organ degree in 1969, a cantor and music teacher degree in 1973 and a solo singing degree. She has been a chorister in the Radio Choir and in Eric Ericson's chamber choir as well as a teacher at the Ingesund Academy of Music.

She worked as a church musician from 1978. From 1991 she was employed in Västerås Cathedral Parish, where she was a cathedral organist from 2006 until her retirement in 2014. She formed Västerås Cathedral's motet choir in 1991 and the same year took over the leadership of the Maria Choir after the representative Bror Samuelson. She led the Maria Choir until 2016, with a one-year break.

Sköld is an active composer, with an emphasis on vocal and choral music. However, she has never studied composition.
