Ænima - A Tool Experience is Belgium's one and only Tool-Tributeband!
Ænima was brought to life in 2015 by drummer Joris Rombaut and guitarist Jay Van den Berghe, primarily to sharpen their own musical talents. They already had a great history between them playing in the Surf-Rock band Los Bastardos del Bronco, in which they already walked the fine line of the genre. Mario Van de Velde, from Ghent, who coincidentally also fronted a band called Bastardos, saw the light and stepped up to fill in the vocals. Last, but certainly not least, bassplayer Peter Baart (who just signed a record deal with his other band Offworld) took on the last vacant spot, as he had already proved to be a technical and musical force to be reckoned with.
Soundengineer and Tool-addept Jan Eeckman, together with VJ Nico Matthys, set the bar another notch higher to recreate the complete impact both sound and vision.
At this moment, no other Belgian band has ever ventured into Tool-territory as Ænima has. This is an evolving project, as setlist and visuals are both updated and perfected to give the audience a complete experience. A 2-hour set is possible at this time.
